Oh my frustrations

So ok, here are a couple of things that have been going on in the last few days...

I took the cat to the vet to get a rabies shot - $75 later I'm sure he would have been fine without it! What a rip off! The "exam" was the most expensive. All the vet did was check her eyes, teeth and say, "well she looks really healthy." Ummm yeah I could have told ya that pal. Anyway, its done. whatever. I'm gonna try and find vaccines on the black market and do that stuff myself.

The next day I went to the dentist for a checkup and cleaning. Nothing major. I've been paying for insurance for 3 years and haven't taken advantage of it yet. So my "no-big-deal" checkup and cleaning ended up with a $1700 estimate for dental work the dentist thinks I need. Ummm NEGATIVE - seriously, that dentist is ridiculous! I don't think I need a root canal on a tooth if it doesn't actually hurt. I think they doctored my x-rays! HAHA. Needless to say, i'm getting a second opinion. Thanks.

Today I went to the laundromat for the first time in 5 years. I'm washer & dryer-less for a little while. I was a little grossed out, my mom called me a snob - haha. I deserved it.

Ants in my pants - make me do the boogie dance

Two days ago I found a happy trail of ants in the kitchen. I was so mad! A house with ants just gross me out! (MCA - thanks.) Quickly I drowned them in ant killer-spray-stuff. Poor little guys didn't have a fighting chance. The next morning, in the bathroom - more ants! Where are these things coming from!? And why are they attacking me!? Once again - ant killer - dead! Today, working at my desk, I see ants on the wall by the window! That's it - no more! I swear i sprayed every crevice in this apartment! Ants cannot and will not have a fighting chance in this place!

And apparently its really true that ants try to find places to live after it rains. Just like the kids song - "the ants go marching one by one hurrah, hurrah....and they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" I guess that's why they have decided to infiltrate my home. UGH - disgusting.

Bea had an ant problem a couple weeks ago in her apartment - another reason to move out of this place!

Now lets all count how many times I used an exclamation point in this post...hahaha!!!

Michelle

Today was the day. Michelle came to pick up the rest of her stuff from the apartment - and yes, it was sad. I never thought I could live with a roommate but Chelle and I totally worked. We were different and yet we were the same. I know its hard for her to move back to Corpus but I know that I would have made the same decision if I was her. Im proud of her actually. I miss her, but I'm proud of her. Our roots are in Corpus but she will always be an Austinite!

Melixxxa is moving in soon and I'm really excited about her coming to Austin and starting a new part of her life as well. Tokyo is the one who is gonna have to adjust. Melixxxa, I hope you don't mind cats hiding in your closet!

An Ode to Dante

Lisa's cat is dying. I'm really sad because I know how much she loves Dante and I can't even imagine myself in that situation. I know I complain about my stupid Tokyo but as much as she bugs me sometimes I can't help but love her. Maybe I'm just used to her being around. Even now, sitting on the floor and on the computer, this animal is just laying right next to me. If I decided to get up and walk to the bedroom she would follow me there too. She is so funny. I guess she is just as attached to me as I am to her.

Lisa, I know this is tough but even though Dante is just an animal I know that he feels every bit of love and concern that you have for him. You saved him from being a "pound kitty" and gave him an incredible life. If he could understand what was going on I'm sure he would trust whatever decision you make.

Stuff

So the maintenance man is coming today to put a new light in my closet so I did a little "cleaning up". Yeah...this girl needs to do A LOT of cleaning up. I feel like there is just so much "stuff" everywhere in my apartment. Stuff I don't need, stuff I don't use....just stuff. I don't really know what to do with it? I wish Tokyo would find my "stuff" and use that as his scratching post instead of my couch! Gato feo!

Astrology and me...and you too

For some reason I decided that I would look up astrological signs and see what each one was all about. Not just mine but others as well. I'm an Aquarius by the way. Virgo, Pisces, Cancer...just random stuff. Talking with a few people I found that may of the characteristics that came up were similar to their corresponding personalities. Now I know that sometimes we can read things that can "convince us" that we are what we are not - but this is different because I know these people on a personal level. I was surprised by what I read and I found several things to be thought provoking. I don't really care to elaborate but I do feel that I have been enlightened and can understand my moods and personality a little better.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that now more than ever I kinda "believe" in this "cosmic" level of humanity. This coming from a very Christ-centered belief system may sound hypocritical but its isn't...at all. No i don't believe that my horoscope will dictate my daily life but I do somewhat believe in the principals of energy, both externally and internally.

And this could all change at the drop of a hat, by the way, its the effects of being an Aquarian. I blame my stars.

So much to say

Well its Monday again and I must say this was probably the laziest weekend I've had in a really long time. I blame the Olympics and Law & Order Marathons on TV. How does anyone expect me to get anything done when either of those are on the entire weekend!

I did buy my new Oscar Wilde literature piece, A Picture of Dorian Gray, so far so gay. haha
Am I the only one that didn't know Oscar Wilde was gay??

So I'm on these "homeopathic" supplements and there is this antioxidant juice that I have to drink - literally it tastes like I'm drinking spoiled cheese with a hint of blueberry. DISGUSTING! I tried giving some to the cat - hahaha - yeah, even she wouldn't touch it.

I have this new obsession with Oscar Wilde. I've been reading lots of stuff that mentions him. Also, I really love some of his recorded quotes:

Yes, I am Mexican

So yesterday's "brake" fiasco was quickly put to a halt when I realized that my whole brake system in my car wasn't going to give out - i simply had a brake light out. The right side to be exact. I'm sorry but all my life when a light comes up on your dash as a warning its usually because there is severe damage to the vehicle - NOT because the car is being courteous and informing you of something so simple. "BRAKE LIGHT" actually means there is something wrong with a brake light - ha! Call me Mexican but I've always been informed that one of my lights is out because someone honks and points to the back of my car - usually while we are both still driving. I have no business rolling around in an Audi - haha!

Karma & Kars

I'm in corpus today for work - i'll be back in ATX tomorrow.

My "brake light" came on this morning on my way here - tempted to turn around but ehh - its just a brake light, eventually it will turn off, right? Just kidding - I was so paranoid! Of course I called my dad for him to fix it over the phone but whatever. Its not like I had to use my brakes all that much on the highway. I figure if I keep my karma in check while I'm here I should be able to make it back and head right to the dealership on Friday. That means I can't make fun of people with you Aurora! No laughing at Myspace pictures with bad extentions, or anything similar. I gotta stay on track! At least until my brakes are fixed ;)
