BLACK MAN, BLACK MAN!!

History was made tonight. I am proud to be part of such a monumental accomplishment for this country. Not until today, driving home from work, did I decide exactly who I was going to vote for; and I'm glad I did.

Although not everyone agrees with the outcome, we have to look past the "politics" (no pun intended) and remember that we are all Americans and we all want what is best for this country as a whole.

I heard a comment the other day that someone told me they read stating "anyone who votes for pro-abortion can't claim to be a Christian." I was appalled and just plain annoyed by that statement. This election is so much more than rights to abortion! The issue of abortion will NEVER go away! And I know that many Christians have similar opinions but wake up! We live in a day and age where things we don't agree with will continue to exist. I was also faced with a comment that stated, "we are 'preserving morality' by electing the republican candidate." I'm terribly sorry to inform many of you who feel that way - but the human race is moral or immoral because of a choice that is made to live life a certain way. Just like you and I. Just the way God intended by giving us a free-will to chose to be the people that we have decided to be. Electing a Red or Blue president will never change that. This is a HUGE deal for this generation. It is a movement toward change and its empowering to know that I was part of it. It is empowering to so many people and that's something that all of us need to embrace.

In his speech, Barack Obama said, "There are many of you who's vote I did not win. But I do hear your voice, and I need you and I will also be your President." I think if we can all understand the depth of that sentence we can be a nation that continues to stand in the midst of struggle.

I do not wish to offend anyone but I also refuse be seen as anything less than a Christian simply because I live in reality. Lets continue to pray for our country and pray for our new president!
