Sunday Night, Monchie Style

Well its Sunday night, just decorated the Christmas tree, Melixxxa is boiling eggs and Tokyo is hiding cause she heard us threaten to shave lighting bolts in her fur to give her street cred. She is gonna need it if I end up moving to the place on MLK & Poquito. She is gonna be gangsta! All I need to do is show her how to use the gun and we are set!

So...Melixxxa and I read this this thing about dudes and reading their body language...and FYI if a dude stands with his toes pointing each other then he is gay, if he lifts his eyebrows he's cochino and if he half-smiles then he's fake. Well thats what we decided anyway. Hmmm, what does it mean when you get mixed signals all the time?? Greg Bernhardt would say, "He's just not that into you." Yeah, whatever. Like I didn't know that already.

We are all craving chocolate bars right now. Actually, I could use some chocolate ice cream. In fact, I just conned Bea into a store run and I'd pay the tab. About to pound some serious Blue Bell...Thanks.

BLACK MAN, BLACK MAN!!

History was made tonight. I am proud to be part of such a monumental accomplishment for this country. Not until today, driving home from work, did I decide exactly who I was going to vote for; and I'm glad I did.

Although not everyone agrees with the outcome, we have to look past the "politics" (no pun intended) and remember that we are all Americans and we all want what is best for this country as a whole.

I heard a comment the other day that someone told me they read stating "anyone who votes for pro-abortion can't claim to be a Christian." I was appalled and just plain annoyed by that statement. This election is so much more than rights to abortion! The issue of abortion will NEVER go away! And I know that many Christians have similar opinions but wake up! We live in a day and age where things we don't agree with will continue to exist. I was also faced with a comment that stated, "we are 'preserving morality' by electing the republican candidate." I'm terribly sorry to inform many of you who feel that way - but the human race is moral or immoral because of a choice that is made to live life a certain way. Just like you and I. Just the way God intended by giving us a free-will to chose to be the people that we have decided to be. Electing a Red or Blue president will never change that. This is a HUGE deal for this generation. It is a movement toward change and its empowering to know that I was part of it. It is empowering to so many people and that's something that all of us need to embrace.

In his speech, Barack Obama said, "There are many of you who's vote I did not win. But I do hear your voice, and I need you and I will also be your President." I think if we can all understand the depth of that sentence we can be a nation that continues to stand in the midst of struggle.

I do not wish to offend anyone but I also refuse be seen as anything less than a Christian simply because I live in reality. Lets continue to pray for our country and pray for our new president!

Is this microphone on?

Bear with me, I'm about to say a bunch of words that may not make sense to you but they make perfect sense to me.

Last night was probably one of the worst nights of my life. It really just sucked. I was forced to look at myself, my emotions and be just brutally honest. I hated every minute of it. I had no choice. Now that I have starred the beast in the face and have faced the ugly truth about being a woman do I feel better? Nope. Not one bit. In fact, I'd be more inclined to say I feel worse. But on the flip side of that I know that it will eventually get better. I refuse to allow this to dictate who I am today and who I will be tomorrow. I am, after all, my mother's daughter.

Geeks Unite

Second week of training for my new job...yeah, still in a hotel.
Actually its not so bad, only because I'm learning tons of stuff I probably would have never tapped into because, well, we have geeks to do that. Yeah, hi, I'm a geek now apparently. My new vocabulary includes firewall, DNS, data center, server migration...the list goes on!
I think I need a nap.

fanatically yours, (haha)

Back in the saddle again

Well its been quite a while since I've posted anything but now I'm back on track and ready to write, write, write. So what's been going on...?

Well...I got a new job and I absolutely LOVE it. And that's just the training part - haha! Seriously, I'm thrilled to be part of such a great company and I'm excited to see new things to come. Also, I FINALLY got the computer I have been waiting for...my very own MacBook Pro! It is beautiful. I am in love.

So back to the new job - I'm staying in San Antonio for three weeks for training. At first I thought this might be fun but it's kinda not. I really don't think I enjoy hotels all that much. Maybe its because I know I have to be here for so long and its not really a "vacation" at all. I'll get over it.

I miss Tokyo.

Ike is on his way

So Ike is on his way to the Texas coast. My prayers are with everyone who has to endure any part of this storm. Some of my family has decided to stay in Houston and brave the terrible weather ahead and I hope they and many others are fully prepared.

I on the other hand will be home riding out the bad weather this weekend in my apartment with the first 5 episodes of season 1 of The Tudors and trying my hand at an Italian Cream cake from scratch! Yowza!

Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike is on its way to Corpus. Well that's whats being projected. Its weird not being in the midst of all the craziness that comes with a hurricane in the gulf. I'm worried about my family - I kinda want to be there with them.
